Operating Principle

When the system pressure is below the set value, the regulating spring force maintains the spool in the closed position. Upon reaching the set pressure, the hydraulic force acting on the spool overcomes the spring preload, causing the spool to lift. Excess fluid is then diverted through the relief port back to the reservoir, thereby limiting further pressure rise. Pressure adjustment is accomplished by rotating the adjusting screw to modify the spring pre-compression.
